Biggest Country Producers of Cabbages in 2023. All these countries have huge
production of Cabbages and most of the productions are to fulfill domestic
consumption.
Cabbage is basically popular in some regions. This vegetable can
be used in some dishes as ingredients, eaten freshly, and many other uses. Taxonomically, cabbage can
be classified into Superorder: Rosanae; Order: Brassicales; Family:
Brassicaceae; Genus: Brassica L. and Species: Brassica oleracea L. Because it
is included into Family of Brassicaceae, Cabbage has close relationship with Brassica rapa (turnip), Brassica napus (rapeseed), Raphanus sativus (radish), garden cress
(Lepidium sativum), and watercress (Nasturtium officinale). Commonly, based
on morphological types, there are some popular types of cabbage including green

1.China, mainland
China still becomes
the world’s biggest country producer of cabbage in 2023. Statistically, the
output production of China reached 35,548,458 tons. Many cabbages production have
been used as salad. Genetically, China is popular with Chinese cabbage Which has two cultivar groups, namely the
Pekinensis Group (napa cabbage) and the Chinensis Group (bok choy).
2.India
India is the 2nd world’s biggest country producer of
Cabbage in 2023. According to FAO Statistical Corporate Database (FAOSTAT), the
production of Cabbage from India reached 10,049,000 tons. Geographically, in
India, the main cultivation areas of cabbages spread across some states. These states have huge production of
cabbage, including West Bengal, Odisha, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Assam and
Bihar.
3. Russian Federation
Russia is the world’s biggest country producer of cabbage in Europe. Statistically, the production of cabbage from Russia
reached 2,569,254 tons. Dagestan and Sakha are some of the cultivation regions
of cabbage in Russia. Statistically, Russian people love these vegetables
because their consumption of cabbage is still one of the biggest. Statistically, Russian’s consumption of
