Commonly, oil palm trees (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is one of the world's most planted tree species in 2023. Many countries including Indonesia planted this agricultural commodity because of the usefulness in making palm oil, soap, cosmetics, and other derivative products. Statistically, total world's production of Oil Palm Fruit in 2021 reached 416 million tons with harvested areas around 29 million hectares (ha) and this oil still became one of the world's most consumed vegetables oils.

To date, Wilmar International is one of Asia's leading agribusiness groups specifying in Palm Oil Industries and supported by a multinational workforce of about 100,000 people. As of 2023, in palm oil industries, the total production of Fresh Fruit of Bunches reached 4.5 million tons. In addition, Wilmar also has managed a total planted area of oil palm plantation reaching 231,697 hectares (ha) as of 31 December 2023 and all the plantations located in several locations, of 65% is in Indonesia, 26% in East Malaysia and 9% in Africa.
