Agricultural Commodities from New Zealand in 2022. These agricultural

1. Raw milk of
cattle
Raw milk is still the most produced agricultural commodity from New Zealand. According to FAO Statistical Corporate
Database (FAOSTAT) in 2024, the production of raw milk in 2022 reached 21,051,000 tons. Geographically, according to
Statistics New Zealand (Stats NZ) in 2022, the main dairy cattle production
areas in New Zealand are located in some regions. Specifically, the regions include Waikato
(628,420 ha), Canterbury (326,153 ha), Southland (239,447 ha), Taranaki
(207,086 ha), Manawatu Wanganui (178,833 ha),
and Northland (166,101 ha). Furthermore, in this country, there is one of the
most popular milk cooperatives with popular brands of milk products, namely Fonterra. Commonly, Fonterra has
abundant production of milk products and has exported the products to other
countries.
2. Meat of cattle with the bone, fresh or
chilled
Meat of cattle also has abundant production in
New Zealand. Statistically, the production of cattle meat in New Zealand
reached 727,962 tons in 2022.
Geographically, according to Statistics New Zealand (Stats NZ) in 2019, the
main beef cattle areas for meat production in New Zealand are located in some
regions. Specifically, the major production area of meat can be found in
Canterbury (477,037 ha), Otago (382,171 ha), Manawatu Wanganui (308,062 ha), Waikato (270,708 ha), Hawke's bay (256,872 ha), Northland (240,118 ha), Marlborough (179,978
ha), and Gisborne (143,996 ha).
3. Kiwi
fruit
Kiwi fruits are the most produced of fruits in
New Zealand. According to FAO Statistical Corporate Database (FAOSTAT), the
production of Kiwi fruits in New Zealand reached 603,523 tons.
Geographically, in New Zealand, total plantation areas of Kiwi reached
15,523 hectares until 2020. Furthermore, green
kiwi and gold kiwi still became
the major areas, reaching 7,800 hectares (ha) and 7,500 hectares (ha), respectively.
Geographically, according to Stats NZ in 2020, there are some main cultivation
areas of kiwi fruits in New Zealand which located in Bay of Plenty, Waikato,
Auckland, and Northland with total areas of kiwi reaching 12,090 hectares (ha),
770 hectares (ha), 660 hectares (ha), and 650 hectares (ha),
respectively.
4. Apples
Apples is the 2nd most-produced fruits in New Zealand after kiwi fruits and become the 4th most agricultural product from New Zealand. Commonly, the production of apples from New Zealand achieved 575,553 tons in 2022. Geographically, according to Stats NZ of 2020, there are main cultivation areas of apple fruits in New Zealand. It can be found in Bay of Plenty, Waikato, Auckland, and Northland with total areas of apples reaching Hawke’s Bay (6,190 hectares (ha)), Tasman (2,200 hectares (ha)), and Otago (540 hectares (ha)).

The production of grapes in New Zealand
achieved 532,000 tons.
Geographically, based on Stats NZ in 2020, there are some main cultivation
areas of grapes in New Zealand. The main location of grape located in
Marlborough (25,460 hectares (ha)), Hawke’s Bay (3,950 hectares (ha)),
Canterbury (1,430 hectares (ha)), Gisborne (1,260 hectares (ha)), and Otago
(1,210 hectares (ha)).

chilled
The production of sheep’s meat achieved 436,975 tons in 2024. Geographically, according to Statistics New
Zealand (Stats NZ) in 2019, the main sheep cattle raising areas for meat
production in New Zealand are located in some regions. Specifically, it can be found in Otago
(1,151,056 ha), Canterbury (971,792 ha), Manawatu Wanganui (516,862 ha), Southland (385,998 ha), Hawke's bay (291,465 ha), Waikato (162,413 ha), Wellington (158,457
ha), and Marlborough (146,606 ha).

Potatoes
Potatoes are the
tuber crops that also have abundant production
in New Zealand. According to FAO Statistical Corporate Database (FAOSTAT), the
production of Potatoes from New Zealand reached 428,451 tons.
Geographically, there are some main growing areas of potatoes in New Zealand,
and it is located in Pukekohe, Manawatu and Canterbury. In terms of the
genetics of potatoes, there are some popular
cultivars/ varieties of potato which are favorable to farmers. These cultivars include Russett Burbank,
