The United States of America is one of the world’s largest country
producers of Christmas trees. In 2000, the production of Christmas trees from
the United States of America reached 33 million trees. Geographically, In the USA, there are some states with many Christmas trees. The
states which have vast areas of Christmas trees cultivation are Oregon, North
Carolina, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Washington.
2. Germany
Germany is another country with
the largest production of Christmas trees. According to a research publication entitled “The
Christmas tree: Traditions, production, and diseases,” the production of
Christmas trees from Germany reached 19 million trees. Based on species, Nordmann fir is one of the most popular
Christmas trees in Germany. Geographically, North Rhine-Westphalia is one of the main cultivating areas of
Christmas trees in Germany. Furthermore, to fulfill the national demand of Christmas trees, Germany still imported the
trees from Denmark.
3. France
Besides Germany, France also had huge production of Christmas
trees. Statistically, the production of Christmas from France reached 9.2
million trees. Geographically, the cultivation of Christmas trees in France can
be found in several areas, namely Morvan in Burgundy, Brittany, Jura, and the
French Alps.
