1. Nutrien         


Nutrien is the world’s largest provider of crop fertilizers and services that has operations and investments in 13 countries, supported by nearly 25,000 employees worldwide. Based on the marketing of products, Nutrien has key markets in North America, South America, Asia and Europe. Furthermore, based on its global position on fertilizer business, Nutrien is the world’s largest potash producer with over 20 million tonnes of potash capacity at six lower-cost potash mines in Saskatchewan. In addition, based on Nitrogen production, Nutrien is the third-largest nitrogen producer in the world with over 7 million tonnes of gross ammonia capacity and the ability to produce more than 11 million tonnes of total nitrogen products in the US, Canada and Trinidad.

Financially, in 2023, Based on annual report, Nutrien has assets around USD 52.7 billion with liabilities around 27.5 billion. Based on the business performance in 2023, Nutrien can generate revenue around USD 29 billion with net income around USD 1.2 billion.  


2. The Mosaic Company         

    

As one of the biggest fertilizer companies, The Mosaic Company serve customers in approximately 40 countries. Operationally, Mosaic Company has phosphate rock mining sites in Florida, Brazil and Peru. Furthermore, this company has processing facilities of phosphate rock into finished phosphate products in Florida, Louisiana and Brazil. In Postash indutry, Mosaic Company has mining site in Saskatchewan, New Mexico and Brazil.

3.Yara  


Founded in 1905 to solve the emerging famine in Europe, Yara has established a unique position as global crop nutrition company. With main office in Oslo, Norway, Yara operate an integrated business model with around 17,500 employees and operations in 60 countries. In 2022, Yara has 26 production plants with 200 Terminals, warehouses, blending units and bagging facilities. Some of the Yara fertilizer brand products, namely YaraBela™, YaraMila™, YaraLiva™, and YaraVita™.

4. CF Industries


Founded in 1946 as Central Farmers Fertilizer Company, CF Industries has become World’s Largest and Most Integrated Ammonia and Nitrogen Production and Distribution Network. Operationally, CF Industries has owned nitrogen manufacturing facility in Louisiana, United States, a joint venture nitrogen manufacturing facility in Alberta, Canada with ownership of around 66 percent of the share. Furthermore, CF Industries also has a phosphate mining and manufacturing operation in Florida, United States as well as distribution facilities throughout North America. Nowadays, CF indutries have some products in Ammonia, Granular Urea, Urea Ammonium Nitrate, and Ammonium Nitrate.

5. Israel Chemicals        


Israel Chemicals Ltd., (ICL Grouo Ltd) is an agrochemical and fertilizer company that has main office in Tel-Aviv, Israel. Operationally, Israel Chemicals has produced 13% of the world’s potash, 9% of the western world’s magnesium, and 3% of the world’s phosphate rock. Based on products, Israel Chemicals has some fertilizer products including Controlled Release Fertilizers, FertilizerpluS, Fertigation Fertilizers, Foliar Fertilizers, and Granulated PK/NPK.

6. OCI  


Orascom Construction Industries (OCI N.V.) is one of the biggest fertilizer companies in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Historically, this company was founded by Onsi Sawiris in Egypt in 1950. On January 2013, OCI relocated its headquarters from Cairo to Amsterdam. As of 2022, OCI has become a producer and distributor of natural gas-based fertilizers and industrial chemicals with products of nitrogen fertilizers.

7. K+S  


Kali und Salz GmbH (K+S AG) is German chemical fertilizer that has main office in Kassel.  Historically, this company was founded in 1889. Today, K+S is one of the biggest fertilizer companies with production sites in Europe and North America with 11,000 employees. Based on the fertilizer products, this company has some products Potassium chloride and Fertilizer specialties (these fertilizers are chloride-free, because of different nutrient formulas with magnesium, sulfur, sodium, and trace elements, or because they are water-soluble). Based on the business performance in 2021, K+S can gain the revenue €3.8 billion / USD 4.2 billion and net income around € 0.21 billion / USD 0.23 billion.



8. SQM


Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile (SQM) is a chemical fertilizer company that has a main office in Santiago, Chile. Historically, this company was founded in June 11th, 1968 as a joint venture between Compañía Salitrera Anglo Lautaro S.A. (“Anglo Lautaro”) and the Production Development Corporation (Corporación de Fomento de la Producción or “Corfo”). Operationally, SQM have produced nitrates and iodine, which are obtained from the caliche ore deposits in northern Chili, produced potassium nitrate at Coya Sur facility, produced potassium chloride, lithium carbonate, potassium sulfate and boric acid at Salar de Atacama.

Fertiglobe PLC is a United Arab Emirates-based nitrogen fertilizer producer and distributor which has employed approximately 2,680 people globally. Historically, Fertiglobe was formed in September 2019 as a strategic partnership between OCI N.V.(58%) and ADNOC (42%). Operationally, this company has main office in Abu Dhabi. As of now, Fertiglobe is a leading nitrogen fertilizer and ammonia producer and distributor, and the largest producer in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
