10 Most Produced Agricultural Commodities from Netherlands- According to FAO Statistical Corporate Database in 2024, there are 10 Most Produced Agricultural Commodities from the Netherlands in 2022.  Basically, Netherlands is one of the highly developed countries in the World. Based on the World Bank Database, Netherlands has Gross Domestic Product (GDP) around USD 1.1 trillion in 2024 (IMF, 2024). With population around 17 million of population until 2024, GDP per Capita around USD 74,160 in 2024 (IMF, 2024).

Based composition in 2021, The GDP of the Netherlands was mainly dependent on the service sector that contribute around 80 %, meanwhile the industry sector is in the second contributor with contributing around 7 % (Focus Economy, 2024). Brief Description of 10 Most Produced Agricultural Commodities from Netherlands

 

1.Raw milk of cattle      

Milk of Cattle still become the most-produced agriculture commodities from Netherlands in 2022. According to FAO Statistical Corporate Database (FAOSTAT), the production of milk from cattle reached 14,533,740 tons. Based on the regions, the province of Overijssel and Friesland became the major area production of Milk. These two provinces have highest population of cow than other provinces. In dairy industries of Netherlands, The Friesland Campina is the huge cooperative that help to develop the dairy industries of Netherlands.


2.Sugar beet     

Sugar beet is the 2nd most-produced agriculture commodities from Netherlands in 2022. According to FAO Statistical Corporate Database (FAOSTAT), the production of Sugar beet achieved 7,256,600 tons. Geographically, there are some provinces that become the cultivation area of sugar beet. Some of the regions are Drenthe, Groningen, Flevoland, South Holland, Zeeland.


3.Potatoes        

Potatoes is the 33d most-produced agriculture commodities from Netherlands in 2022. According to FAO Statistical Corporate Database (FAOSTAT), the production of potatoes reached 6,915,900 tons. Geographically, the major region of potato cultivation area is in Groningen, Flevoland, Noord-Brabant, and Zeeland provinces. 


4. Meat of pig with the bone, fresh or chilled    

Meat of Pig is the 4th most-produced agriculture commodities from Netherlands in 2022. According to FAO Statistical Corporate Database (FAOSTAT), the production of Meat of Pig reached 1,683,580 tons. Geographically, Limburg and Noord Brabant are some of the biggest provinces Netherlands that has biggest farms of Pig.


5.Onions and shallots, dry (excluding dehydrated)         

Onions and Shallots still become the 5th most-produced agriculture commodities from Netherlands in 2022. According to FAO Statistical Corporate Database (FAOSTAT), the production of Onion and Shallot reached 1,496,310 tons. In Netherland, the cultivation area of Shallot and Onion located in Flevoland, South holland, North Brabant, and Zeeland provinces.


6.Wheat            

Wheat is the 6th most-produced agriculture commodities from Netherlands in 2022. According to FAO Statistical Corporate Database (FAOSTAT), the production of Wheat reached 1,162,860 tons. Geographically, Groningen is one of cultivation area of Wheat in Netherlands.

 

7.Meat of chickens, fresh or chilled       

Meat of Chicken is the 6th most-produced agriculture commodities from Netherlands in 2022. According to FAO Statistical Corporate Database (FAOSTAT), the production of chicken’s meat reached 863,970 tons.  Geographically, Gelder bran, Groningen, Overijssel are some provinces that have huge production of Chicken’s meat.            


8.Tomatoes      

Tomatoes is the 8th most-produced agriculture commodities from Netherlands in 2022. According to FAO Statistical Corporate Database (FAOSTAT), the production of Tomatoes reached 770,000 tons. Basically, many tomatoes in Netherlands are cultivated in Green House.


9.Carrots and turnips   

Carrots and Turnips is the 9th most-produced agriculture commodities from Netherlands. In 2022, according to FAO Statistical Corporate Database (FAOSTAT), the production of Carrots and turnips reached 488,880 tons.


10.Raw milk of Goat

Raw milk of goat is the 10th most-produced agriculture commodities from Netherlands. In 2022, according to FAO Statistical Corporate Database (FAOSTAT), the production of Meat of Cattle reached 445,220 tons.  Geographically, according to CBS report in 2022, most of dairy goats can be found in the provinces of Noord-Brabant (141 thousand) and Gelderland (117 thousand).
