10 World’s Largest Country Users of Animal Manure as Fertilizers
10
World’s Largest Country Users of Animal Manure as Fertilizers -- According to FAO Statistical Corporate Database (FAOSTAT), there are
10 World’s Largest Country Users of
Animal Manure as Fertilizers in 2021.
These countries have applied a large amount of animal manure as
fertilizer.
The long-term
usage of soil for agriculture activity depletes its fertility. To support the
plant's life, many nutrients in soil have been absorbed by the plant. As a
result, the nutrient condition inside the soil is getting lower and lower. To
reduce the soil degradation of soil nutrition losses, some input, namely animal
manure can be used to re-energize the soil conditions and make it fertile
again.
Animal manure is
one of the most important things in agriculture. Many farmers, gardeners and other farming
lovers broadly used animal manure to fertilize the soil. Beside chemical
fertilizer, animal manure is one of the most important things to ameliorate the
soil fertility. Scientifically, the usage of animal manure can improve the soil
physic, biology, and chemical. Specifically, organic fertilizers are the input
which can improve the physical properties of viz. decrease in sodicity,
decrease in soil bulk density, increase in water infiltration rate, increase in
porosity and aeration, increase in saline water leaching and chemical
properties, i.e. decrease in acidity (Sing et
al., 2020). Therefore, with the depleted soil from agricultural usage from
time to time, animal manure can be the solution to rejuvenate the soil
conditions.

The increasing
agricultural activity due to growth of human populations affect the usage of
animal manure as fertilizers. Its application is getting bigger and bigger. It
can be seen from the FAO Statistical Corporate Database (FAOSTAT) data. In the
year of 1961, the World's usage of animal manure as fertilizer was just 18.3
million tons. After more than 60 years, exactly in 2022, it has increased to
27.8 million tons.
Statistically,
many countries applied animal manure to improve the soil conditions. So, the
sustainability of agriculture activity can be done in a long time. So here are
the largest countries that applied huge amounts of animal manure to its
agriculture activity. All of the data were obtained from FAO Statistical
Corporate Database (FAOSTAT) in 2023.

kilograms (kg). This huge application of animal manure as a fertilizer can
support the agricultural production in China.
Demographically,
China is one of the world's most populous countries. Until 2021, its population
reached 1.4 billion of people. This country still needs huge agriculture
commodity to give the food for its huge population. Commonly, according to FAO
Statistical Corporate Database (FAOSTAT), China has produced some agriculture
commodities. Particularly, some of the most produced agricultural commodities
from China in 2021 are Maize (272 million tons), Rice (214 million tons), Wheat
(136 million tons), Sugarcane (107 million tons), and Potatoes (94 million
tons).
2.United States of America
The United
States of America (USA) also has huge application of animal manure as
fertilizer. Statistically, in 2021, the usage of animal manure (Nitrogen content) as fertilizer achieved 2,459,218,953 kilograms (kg). As a one of
the largest economic countries in the world. The United States of America (USA)
has also some most produced agricultural commodity. Statistically, some of the
most produced agricultural commodities from the United States of America (USA)
are Maize (383 million tons), Soybean (120 million tons), Wheat (44 million
tons), Sugar beet (33 million tons), and sugarcane (29 million tons).
3.India
India also used a huge amount of animal manure as
fertilizer. Statistically, in this country, the usage of animal manure reached 2,280,094,270 kilograms (kg).
Probably, some of the animal manure came from Buffalo, Chicken, Cattle,
Goat, and others because these species have huge animal populations in India.
Statistically,
according to the FAO Statistical Corporate Database (FAOSTAT), India has some
of the most produced agricultural commodities. Some of the most produced
agricultural commodities are Sugarcane (405 million tons), Rice (195 million
tons), Wheat (109 million tons), Potatoes (54 million tons) and others.

Brazil also
applied animal manure in huge amounts. According to FAO Statistical Corporate
Database (FAOSTAT), Brazil has applied around 1,588,044,375 kilograms (kg) of animal manure in 2021. Commonly,
in Agriculture sectors, many animals’ manures have applied to soil to support
the plant’s growth.
Statistically,
according to FAO Statistical Corporate Database (FAOSTAT), Brazil has some of
the most produced agricultural commodities in 2021. Some of the most produced
agricultural commodity in Brazil are Sugarcane (715 million tons), Soybean (134
million tons), Maize (88 million tons), Cassava (18 million tons) and others.

The Russian
Federation has applied 1,159,290,565
kilograms (kg) of animal manure as fertilizer in 2021. Probably, some of the
animal manure came from chickens, cattle, sheep, and pigs because of a large
population of these animal species in Russia.
Furthermore, in Russia, there are some most produced agricultural

also applied huge amounts of animal manure. In 2021, Pakistan applied
1,001,831,664 kilograms (kg) of animal manure. Probably, the animal manure in Pakistan came
from buffaloes, cattle, sheep, goats and camels because of the huge animal
population of these species.
Statistically, according to FAO Statistical
Corporate Database (FAOSTAT), Pakistan has some of the most produced
agricultural commodities. Some of the most produced agricultural commodities
are Sugar cane (88 million tons), Wheat (27 million tons), Rice (13.9 million
tons), Maize (10.6 million tons), Potatoes (5.8 million tons) and others.
8.France
France also gives the animal manure to
fertilize the soil. Statistically, the usage of animal manure as fertilizer in
France is around 834,466,111
kilograms (kg). Its application can help France to sustain the farming
activity. Statistically, according to the FAO Statistical Corporate Database
(FAOSTAT), France has some of the most produced agricultural commodities. Some
of the most produced agricultural commodities are Wheat (36 million tons),
Sugar beet (34 million tons), Maize (15 million tons), Barley (11.3 million
tons), Potatoes (8.9 million tons) and others.
9.Germany
Germany has applied 709,934,999 kilograms (kg) of animal manure in 2021. This country
also has a huge population of some animals and some of animal manure came from
chickens, cattle, and pigs because of a large population of these animal
species in Germany.
In the
agriculture world, statistically, according to the FAO Statistical Corporate
Database (FAOSTAT), Germany has some of the most produced agricultural
commodities. Some of the most produced agricultural commodities are Sugar beet
(31 million tons), Wheat (21 million tons), Potatoes (11 million tons), Barley
(10.4 million tons) and others.
10.Spain
According to FAO Statistical Corporate
Database (FAOSTAT), Spain still applied 550,866,311 kilograms (kg) of animal
manure in 2020. Probably, some of the animal manure came from sheep, cattle,
chicken, and pigs because of a large population of these animal species in
Spain.
Statistically, according to the FAO
Statistical Corporate Database (FAOSTAT), Spain has some of the most produced
