6 Largest Tobacco and Cigarette Companies in Indonesia
6 Largest Tobacco and Cigarette Companies - According
to the 2024 Company Annual Report Data, there are 6 Largest Tobacco and
Cigarette Companies in Indonesia. If
related to the world of agriculture, many tobacco leaf harvests from farmers
are sold to these companies and has huge impact on the foundation and
development of Indonesia's tobacco industry.
Indonesia is a society with a high dependence on cigarette
consumption. Functionally, cigarettes have become a product that can be a
comfortable medium to smoke when drinking coffee, chatting with others or as a
sedative when stress/frustration conditions. Although there are negative
aspects in terms of health and various health campaigns are echoed to reduce
cigarette consumption, these campaigns and actions are certainly not easy to do
because they will have various effects. This will have a dilemma on the one
hand wanting to raise awareness of the negative impacts of cigarettes but on
the other hand critics have not found a solution to the loss of potential
income, employment, and economic value of tobacco farmers if they do not plant
this commodity. When viewed from an agricultural perspective, many farmers in
Indonesia have improved their welfare due to farming/cultivating tobacco
plants. Broadly speaking, cigarettes and their industry have supported Indonesia's
economy. Tobacco tax revenue, provision of extensive employment opportunities
and increasing the economy of farmers are some of the strategic roles of the
tobacco industry for Indonesia.
Viewed from the tobacco and cigarette industry and players,
many players do business in this industry. From the company's financial report
data in 2024, there are several large Indonesian tobacco and cigarette
companies that dominate the cigarette market in Indonesia. The following are
some of the largest cigarette companies in Indonesia and the Rulers of the
Indonesian Tobacco Market. Data taken from the Company's Annual Report (Annual
Report) in 2024. The Djarum Group cannot be analyzed because it is a private
